Here are some shots of some cute baby chickadee's and one of a baby with a face that only a mother could love. Hee! Hee! Not sure what he/she is. Maybe a cardinal or robin. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Nick! Yep, those little guys are adorable but they always seem to be mad. Maybe they were hoping for a worm from mom instead of staring down the barrel of my FZ150. Hee! Hee!

Nope, no hideout. I was extremely close though. I was right at the min. focal distance at full zoom. Chickadee's are very trusting and go about their business as long as you don't move too much. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated!

Thanks Greg! Nope, I didn't use a TC. However, I did buy the Panasonic TC a few days ago and when I took it out of the box there was something inside the lens making a clinking sound. I knew it couldn't be good but I tested it anyways and I was right. The lens wouldn't focus at all and the photos looked like a special effect such as a severe diffusion was added. So, now I'm waiting on a replacement. It's just my type of luck though. Thanks again.

Yeah, no doubt on those little claws. When you see them up close they look like they could do some damage if they were on something besides a cute little chickadee. Hee! Hee! Thanks Trafford!

Thanks, and you're welcome! Their little "I'm having a bad day" expressions crack me up.

Outstanding Johnny! Both profiles, 'mean beak', grooming.... just great. It is fun getting close, although a little nerve wracking - right?

Rick

Superb! Some of the best I have seen with the FZ150. I may have to get one yet, darn you! Really nice (and cute). Keep 'em coming.

Yep, the photo with the really angry looking face and the one grooming are two of my favorite as well. I guess the mean look is my favorite though. He looked like he wasn't too thrilled with me at all. You are right about it being a little nerve racking. I just lucked out when I came upon them leaving the nest but I didn't think they would sit still long enough for me to get as many shots as I did. I also had to deal with a neighbor zooming by on his lawnmower as well as other neighbors driving by. The little birds seemed pretty much oblivious by it all though. I guess they had more important things on their mind like learning to fly and land without planting their beak in the dirt. Hee! Hee!

Thanks Albert, I really appreciate it. Sorry I may have helped to lighten your wallet some. Hee! Hee! But, don't feel like the Lone Ranger because the same thing happened to me. After I got on the Panny forum and started looking at all the other folks awesome FZ150 photos, the bug bit me and I just had to take the plunge. I'm glad I did though because I'm really enjoying photography again.

Really great shots, Johnny. You and the FZ150 look to be having a lot of fun with the birds. I think the best, in terms of posing, is the one with the bird in the tree hole. All look sharp with good feather detail. Nicely done.
