Hmmm, wondering, 24mm ?

Is there any trick ?

Much better than 24mm Aleo

Is there any trick ?

No trick, its real OOC, am impressed, we are rectlinear 10mm equiv FOV prime but only available on GH2, LOL.

The lens isn't wide enough (although with nothing in the foreground its very difficult to say) but the aspect ratio is way too wide. I'm sure you're opinion is different because you must continue to cling to the limited number of features in which the GH2 still rules the roost. When I first got an LX5, I shot everything in 16-9 for a while but quickly grew to hate it - now I never use it. Just 3:2 or 4:3 for me, depending, sometimes cropped down to square after the fact. Yes, its nice that the GH2 can shoot in 3:2 without reducing the pixel count, and no the OMD can't. But I've been shooting in 3:2 on cameras that weren't made for it for quite a while and its never bothered me in the least in actual use. If I didn't, I'd probably just crop off the tops and bottoms to fit, since 3:2 works better with my favorite print sizes...

Ray, this wasnt meant to be a gh2 vs, just an innocent feedback question, but I get an old geazer and some lecture, I dont need it, enjoy your Omd.

Not too keen on the crop, look APS-C or worse. Where have the top and bottom gone? Otherwise nice. 24mm efl (12mm MFT) I'd guess, could be 28.

Try doing that with a GH2 SOOC

The Maker Notes section of the image-file meta-data have been stripped-off , but if we assume that you used your LGV 14-140mm at 14mm, and that you have not cropped the width or the height from the 16:9 aspect-ratio recording mode (in order to ensure the widest Angle of View, and the smallest 35mm equivalent Focal Length), the calculations are fairly straightforward ones.

As you have pointed out, Panasonic states the GH2 image-sensor pixel-pitch as being 3.8 Microns.

The GH2's 16:9 aspect-ratio is 4976 x 2800 pixels (5709.69 pixels diagonal) which equals a 21.697mm diagonal (which will generate the highest AOV, and the lowest 35mm equivalent diagonally-referenced Focal Length) - which it would surely seem that you are seeking to claim ...

AOV = ( 2 ) x ( Arctangent ( ( 21.697mm ) / ( ( 2 ) x ( 14mm ) ) ) ) = 75.543 Degrees

35mm Eq. FL = ( 43.267mm ) / ( ( 2 ) x ( Tangent ( ( 75.543 ) / ( 2 ) ) ) ) = 27.918mm

Wow, that's 81.596 Microns "wider" than a 28mm (35mm equivalent) Focal Length. Good show.

This is the same as the 35mm equiv. FL of the E-M5 in 4:3 aspect-ratio mode with a 14mm lens ...

DM ...

Whatever the Focal Length of your lens, Sam, the diagonally referenced 35mm equivalent Focal Length will not be any different with the GH2 in 16:9 aspect-ratio mode that it would be on the E-M5 in 4:3 aspect-ratio mode. So, you are talking about the avaliablilty of lenses for the E-M5 ?

My response wasn't to knock the GH2 either, just your rather incessant fanboyism. If the "only available in the GH2" wasn't intended to be that, then apologies for the very short "lecture". But there's an element of the boy who cried wolf at play here too...

I'd be surprised if there wasn't an error in at least one of the assumptions above.

It's that abomination known as the Sony 16mm F2.8 used in Panorama sweep mode in portrait orientation on my toy 5n ;).

So where does the "rectlinear 10mm equiv FOV" come in ??

It's been well over 20ยบ for a week now. SOOCs are in the closet already. Not that I liked wearing them anyway, I'm a RAW walker myself.
Give me a week or two, I'll get really really wide by then...

No errors, a cracking lens! 10mm corner to corner sharp, yes!
