I don't know about digital-looking, but the scene looks a bit underexposed, and the contrast is extremely low, which can affect color. Did you play with the highlights-shadows sliders in post, or maybe use some kind of in-camera HDR setting to get the low contrast?

I did quick PP on iphoto which not the best just to see what the pictures are like and as you see we were camping so a lot of greens. The pics look great it's just that the greens look a bit too much for me, not saturated almost fluorescent like!

I agree that this image needs more contrast.

Also, you might want to shut off Keep Warm Color. To do so go to Custom Menu/G Color/WB/E Keep Warm Color and set to Off. This might change the shades of green to somewhat cooler.

I don't think there is any problem. It looks to me like this very low contrast image was taken on a cloudy day (no shadows) and it also seems to be underexposed. In LR4 it looks a lot better if the exposure is pulled to the right and blacks are pulled to the left. Plus a tiny bit of sharpening. Others that are expert in LR could say more.

Post the unedited version

I'd love to see the original with intact exif data. Something is very wrong - I've been using Olympus digitals since 2003 and I've NEVER seen anything like that!

Here's and edit I tried
In reply to eliehbk, May 12, 2012

Here's an edit I did in Camera Raw.

Not perfect but it seems the camera couldn't quite read the greens right in the rainy overcast day.

I would love to see a raw version of this, but I gather you don't have one. Shame. In any event, it suffers from incorrect WB and processing anemia. I couldn't be sure, of course, of the correct WB, but I've done as best I could with the following. AWB is not to be trusted with a scene like this that has few significant neutral regions. I've also made a number of tonal alterations.

What Picture Mode was used?

Contrast and Saturation settings changed from default?

Are normal sunlit scenes OK?

Unusual for an Olympus JPG not to be close to spot on first try!

Fantastic that your taking that camera out into nature. It's weatherproofing makes that easy.

There is also a very good app that ships with the camera ... you need to start playing with it! Its also has a good photo database. Its surprising for free software. It even runs quick on old computers. Lightroom or Aperture would be better ... but perhaps not that much. And the Olympus one handles RAW, which does not slow your camera down much it seems.

Normal scenes are ok just the greens are weird. I usually shoot with aperture priority and AWB and ISO for snap shots.

Hey Jordan, stunning detail, bokeh and color on the bird and flower macro. What lens are you using for these two shots here?
