D80 not detected by computer

D80 not detected by computer

Aftr breaking my card reder I thought no probs, just connect my D80 to the omputer... Owever now I'm running windows 7 an there is a problem getting the right driver to wok. Does anyone have any suggestions?

check what communication mode your camera is in. That may be the problem.

I'd suggest buying another card reader. Probably $10 at Best Buy or some such. I've been told it is not recommended to connect the camera directly to the computer - if you break a card read, no big deal. If something gets broken where the cord connects to the camera, that's lots more expensive. That logic made sense to me.

Yep, that would be it.
One can choose either "Mass Storage" or "PTP" in the setup menu.
