i want a micro 4/3 but which one?? so many!!!!

hi

i have a pan FZ150 for tele but i would like a micro 4/3 for excellent close ups.
also i will be going to silverstone in june for bike races.

other than going to silverstone, my main usage will be in the garden and days out with family so i want the best possible IQ without having to carry a DSLR.

thanks for advice. im looking at panasonic G3 from jessops.£389.99 not bad!

Suggest you post this in the micro four thirds forum. Lots of users with experience over there. As ever it depends on how much you want to spend and your preferences. Generally it seems Panasonic are best for video and they do have some 2.8 zooms on the horizon. What's missing with your FZ150? The answer should help your choice.

Yes I have posted on m4/3

I want better IQ AND more DOF. Panasonic I would like to stay with because I like the software. Also for a G3 and GX1 there are some good deals. But if I can get better IQ for the same money I would have another brand.

G3 is good, and cost effective

I've used a Pen for the last couple of years. What the G3 has that the Pens and GF/GX don't have is - a built in EVF, instead of having a clip on one perched delicately on the flash hot shoe. That always made me a bit nervous.

The G3 is very attractively priced right now, what with the OMD getting all the attention.

Portability is also on my mind. I sold my DSLR 2 years ago, got fed up of size and weight.

Bridge or M4/3 is my max size. I know the G3 is a little bit bigger than GX1 but not a lot.

I do like the sony's and reviews on IQ is fantastic, but I'm hoping Panasonic are just as good.
Money is not really a problem but I have set a max of £600.

Sony NEX 5N, Samsung NX200 have bigger sensors and similar size bodies as 4/3

I have a 5N and just got a Samsung NX200 and so far I'm impressed. I was thinking of the NEX 7 but at less than half the price I got the NX200

well , why not the E - PM 1

I just bought last week Olympus E PM 1 [ with the set lens] camera with excellent reviews and I paid only 339$ , I have been choosing for a long time, I also purchased the Canon 95 s, very fine photos but it was so small in my hands it felt like a phone camera and I just returned it, it's nice to have a possibility of changing the glass and the 4/3/ system does it, it's small enough and it still looks like a real camera, get it and you'll be a happy camper like me

Until you put a lens on it

NEX lenses are large, very large considering the tiny body.

Compare NEX 18-200 to M43 14-150, or even 18-55 to 14-45 or 14-42. Big difference in size.
