1909 Lusitania post card - need translation
May 5, 2012

I found this at a flea market about 20 years ago.
If anybody can translate it, that would really be nice.
After all, we have members from all over the world.
All I know, is that it's post marked 1909 and looks like Liverpool.
I used my 60mmD Micro Nikon 2.8 on this.

The postcard is in Swedish which is close to my mother tongue (Danish), so I will have a go at translating it:

"How are you? Hope you are well, which I am. We have had fine weather all through the journey. The kindest regards are sent you from Olof."

I don't actually speak Swedish either, but from the little I do know, I think nkbj's translation is on the mark. I think a more literal translation of the last line would be, "Heartfelt greetings sent to you from Olof," but his translation probably is closer to the connotation/feeling.

Very cool to have. This would have been sent three years after it launched, and six years before it sank.

Google translate ( http://translate.google.com ) seems to do a reasonable job if you can read the handwriting ( which I have trouble with ). It even makes a reasonable guess at the language.

Yes, I was going to make the same remark. I can make a stab at reading Swedish but I had difficulty with the handwriting too.

Thanks Guys! That is really neat!

I've had it in a little matted frame, I told my wife there was something on the back and that prompted me to open it after maby 20 years?
After all those years I finally know what it says!
Here's the front. Thanks again!

"How are you? Hope you are fine, as I do. We have had good weather the whole trip. Warm greetings were sent you from Olof "

Kind regard
