Where to buy lenses in Seattle/Kirkland?
is the Sonystyle Seattle any good?
The one in the University Village? Not particularly. They have a couple higher end lenses, but not a wide selection.
There is also another shop around the corner from there that I noticed had a reasonable selection of orange Sony boxes on the shelf, but I didn't look at them in much detail, although I did notice a box for a 500mm reflex lens, so it's quite likely a bunch of old stock.
And the Fry's in Renton also has several lenses on display. They seem to be the same lenses they've had on display since the opened (5 years ago?). But I suppose if that's what you want, they got them.
My recommendation for where to buy stuff in this area would be a local online retailer named amazon.com. Depending on where your visiting from, you might be better off shopping there to avoid 9% Washington state sales tax.
Kenmore Camera would be closest to Kirkland and will have the best selection. Its an old style camera store and really cant be missed. They have a great selection of used grear too. I love this store!
Cameras west in Bellvue is second closest but the selection is not as good. It reminds me of a Ritz camera store with half the store being a 1 hour photo lab.
Glazers is downtown but it worth the drive. This is a large store geared toward the professional. You could spend a whole day in there and a lot of money. They've never carried a lot of Sony stuff but there's plenty of other gear to check out.
There's a Sony outlet in Marysville near the casinio in the outlet mall. Its pretty hit and miss but you can land some pretty good bargains if your lucky.
Check out the local Craig's List while you are in the area - you might find something Sony or Minolta of interest.
Another vote for Kenmorecamera. Great store with a huge selection of used and new equipment.
costco? wait, they only carry canikon.
I bought my A330 at Costco in Gig Harbor.
A Month later they had A5xx models (I forget exactly which one).
They don't always have them, but when they do, it's a pretty good deal.
