There were a lot of OIS related issues being reported when the 14-42X was released. Many people were having trouble with ghosting, which resulted in blurry images. Did Panasonic resolve the issues with this lens?

I would also like to know. I've been away from this forum for a while (bicycle accident). Tried to search for it but no luck.
Anybody owns one?

My copy is better than fine. See my post from last Sunday on India with many, many samples.

It is not fixed, see DPReview test of the GX1 and others. I have the lens, and want to like it, but I can repeat the same problem described in the DPReview test. The test is with firmware 1.1. I am keeping the lens because I hope (assume) that Panasonic will fix it.

The situation is the same as it always has been:

Some copies are problematic.
Some copies are not problematic.

I'd say its worth trying for a good copy if the place you order from has a reasonable return policy.

have tried 4 different copies, including latest batch with serial # starting with HN. Though sharpness is superb at 14mm, as soon as I zoom in in the 1/80 to 1/200 range, all displayed the double blur issue.

My copy had problems with OIS off, which implied more of a hardware issue, not a firmware one. Holding the lens barrel firmly made it better, which again implies a hardware issue.

It was a GF3X kit lens.

I made numerous posts about it. You can search for that info.

No problems at all. Counting myself lucky. Good luck with your search. Hope you find one that works for you because it is a rather nice lens when it works properly.
