You don't have to be paid...
In reply to Amateur Sony Shooter, May 1, 2012

to be an advanced shooter. My metric to separate an amateur shooter from an advanced is to look at how they do a small group shot. An amateur will either crop the heads of the subjects or put the heads in the middle of the shot, putting too much wasted space above the heads. An advanced shooter will do a better job of positioning the group. Anyway, that's how I classify the ability of a shooter.

Haha, still amateur, always amateur...I am not taking photos as "job".

that's pretty good stuff for an amateur shooter. Sounds more like advanced shooter to me.

D800 is the best Dslr out there at the moment. Period.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. My Sony cameras get the job done so I don't figure to be any happier with another brand. But the D800 is a nice camera. And the D4 is no slouch either.

If you are inferring this thread was some sarcastic attempt at humour, you've missed the mark by a country mile..

Or are you serious?

Sure I am!
Yet I have 3 Sony DSLR bodies 2 are FF, 6 lenses mostly zeiss, flashes etc..

I'm just saying that I'm looking at nikon equipment, as many others Canon and an handful of Sony pros (we are not more than a few thousands world wide I guess).

just letting out the thoughts of a Sony pro user, I also have medium format digital system, yet the Sony is what I use 70% of the times.

Why unfortunately for me? I could care less if you stay or go. I was just stating a fact.

In reply to Gionni Dorelli, May 1, 2012

I totally understand the post Gionni. That's why I have two DSLR mounts, one to make up for holes in the other.

Ain't nothing wrong with that at all. In fact the only thing wrong with thinking there's something wrong with that, is thinking there might be something wrong with that.

All that matters is that you shoot what you like, brand loyalty only hinders your opportunities.

The brand loyalists here only make this place lessor than it could be, and that goes with those who blindly bash the products to get a rise (not to be confused with those who give good constructive criticism of course).

I wish there was a site you could be banished to. Your insulting sarcasm would not be missed. It seems to be the tone of all your posts.

Why don't you post a few photos or make a few technical contributions. Anyone as critical as you surely must be a gold mine of award winning photos or useful information.

I didn't take it seriously, I couldn't make up my mind if you where being sarcastic, only because your posts lacked all sarcasm and humour so looked 100% like a serious attempt at being provacative until you mentioned someone finally being humorous..

What ever you do, don't take up comedy as a hobby..
