It is bad candid, because it is posed Nice otherwise

Yeah, there's nothing candid about it...unless that's her name. Otherwise, good picture.

Candid, certainly not. Very nice, absolutely
In reply to Mark Kanawati, Apr 28, 2012

Really like the B&W. But, candid this is not. It's as posed as posed can get.

Well, Maybe it was a mistake to call it candid shot.

But what do you do when you are in a party and when you see a beautiful creature passing you and you tell her to please turn around and you snap the shot.
(single flash above the camera, no reflector, no lighting and no background...)

Nevertheless, thanks for the critique I am just so please with the 5D3 performance and hope to share many more photos to come.

Mark

The first image is nicely done. The black and white suits it fine. The second image has too much saturation but you cleaned it up in the third image. The first image is still my favorite. It also doesn't hurt to have such a beautiful human being to photograph. Keep up the good work!

Informal portrait, if not candid

It's a beautiful picture -- too much is being made over labeling it as candid.

I find the red bunny ears very distracting. Nice shot otherwise though

The "ears" do add a certain je ne c'est quoi, no?

I was about to ask you for the lighting setup; what strobes, reflectors, soft boxes, key light, etc.

For a grab shot it's just amazing.

Of course, the discreet photoshopping also suggested that this was a formal studio portrait.

This was a quick shot in a bar/lounge party, there is no lighting set up...
Just the Canon flash on top of the camera bouncing off the ceiling.
The second photo is the RAW photo before editing in Photoshop...
The first and last is after my edit.

I only like number 2 because you can see she's not a doll in that photo. The other ones, some how ended up making her look like a doll, there's no texture in her skin, looks weird.
But the second one is pretty good
