It looks interesting. I bought a K 01 so I do not think I need another camera like it.

to tell us about yours.
Major breakthrough ?

Sounds like the focussing issues would be a deal breaker,
it's not like IQ is hard to find nowadays.

Wonder how many "big" Fuji owners on the Open forum ?

...
Hallo.

I have a new xpro 1 with the 3 lenses, the flash EF20 (not efX 20 becouse i like to tilt it up) two kipon adapters: xpro---> nikon---> nikon mamiya 645

and a release button like this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/247075165/Soft_Release_Button_for_Leica_Nikon.html

I'm really in love with my new camera, she is like the desired toy of a child and she is the quintessence of "THE CAMERA", it is ugly and poor in front and beautiful at the same time.

The only thing that i don't like is the autofocus.

I use the af mode AREA to lock in the center the focus then I compose the shot and sometimes (a lot of time...) in low light condition I have AF error red message.

Using the MULTI focus mode, the camera is more reactive and focus is immediate and accurate BUT it is randomized in the full area of the screen so i lose the control of the picture composition.
So i wait for a firmware update as done for the little sister x100.

The camera is resistant but buttons ar made of plastic as the cover of the batteries.
I like metal.

The upgraded firmware works fine and the chatter noise is disappeard.

So for the moment i have no more to say only to shot. If you have question about this camera i will give answer if i can.

I come from a long past of analog camera (olympus om 2,3 etc then medium format mamiya 645 a lot of dia and use of the darkroom) this is ma first REAL digital camera (i used a few of compact camera with small sensor before nikon, sony, olympus). I was waiting this product because i think that the price for a leica and relative lenses is really offensive and out of logic (in my way of life, i'm not a professional photographer).

Excellent -- now what do you want to discuss?
In reply to PeterPrism, May 6, 2012

And are you on the Fuji forum where there is lots of nice discussion about your camera?

Personally, I a half-century photo life, semi-pro, and I’m now continuing that with an Olympus E-PL3 with four different kinds of viewfinder and a bunch of very nice lenses.

I won’t be moving to the Oly OM-D because:

(a) I sincerely dislike "fake" design -- The OM-D doesn’t look like my favorite, camera of all time, the OM-1, and neither is it a brilliantly functional design like the OM-1 was, instead it is a faux generic SLR, and…

(b) The E-PL3 gives me so much of what I want -- partcularly excitement.

Cheers, geoff

It is the Fujifilm X-Pro1. Only Fuji would be silly enough to name products by shouting ALL CAPS (PROVIA, ASTIA). Earlier they were less silly because Velvia is not all caps.

Looks like their new sensor with rotated 6x6 blocks of R8G20B8 pixels is a waste of time. The m43 sensor on the OM-D E-M5 outperforms it up to at least ISO 6400. Buying into a camera system for taking pictures at ISO 12800 is not something I would do.

They had perfectly fine ideas with SuperCCD and later EXR, but this seems like a strike out. Bayer pattern was invented at Kodak, and it seems Fuji will do anything to avoid it.
