It is not, but.... EF to Nex adapter

http://www.lensadaptor.com/mtf-effect-canon-ef-sony-e-mount

£350

but wait, this adapter also requires MTF EFFECT Control Unit (sold separately) , so how much was that?

http://www.lensadaptor.com/mtf-effect-control-unit

£645.00

That's 350 + 645.00 = £ 995 (about $1500?)

Funny thing is that the adapter and the huge box does nothing that the $399 metabones can't already do.

You don't need the control unit unless you want the 1/8th aperture increment.

Without it, you can't control aperture at all...

...pretty unwieldy assembly of parts and pieces to be
comfortable about reliability afield, to say nothing abt.
compactness :(,

however, I do wonder how much Birger Engineering is
charging for theirs EF to E adapter, which also supposedly
can control aperture alectronicaly??

Considering their 700 USD price for EF to Panasonic AF100, it won't be bargain either. However if it auto-focuses, and if auto-focus ended reliable and fast enough, it could be a step further.

It's total doable if they can reverse engineer the LA-EA2.

Externally controlled, 1/8th stop aperture? That's for manual exposure video. You can also change the aperture without touching/jarring the camera in case you want to pull between two different exposures w/o a cut. It's the same reason most video lenses do not have click stops.

Birger Engineering has been claiming they will release the adapter for more than an year now.

I now doubt this Birger piece will ever show up.
