CS6 Suite deal to save big bucks
Apr 25, 2012

I have not seen this posted so sorry if this is a repeat.

If you have an Adobe Photoshop Suite of version CS5 or earlier, you could save some big bucks ($250 to $500 range) by using a double upgrade approach.

Up until May 6th you can upgrade to CS5.5 and you get a CS6 upgrade for free. Why bother you may ask? Turns out that upgrading to CS5.5 in almost all cases is less expensive than upgrading directly to CS6. With the free upgrade included this is a really Suite deal : )

When you go to the Adobe Web page where you find out the upgrade price from your version to CS6 there is a link stating "Can’t wait? Order the previous version now." That link takes you to the CS5.5 purchase page where you dial in the same information to get your price quote as well as the link on the details for the free "Buty CS5.5 today and get CS6 at no additional cost" Here is the link to the details: http://store.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/offer/cs55_cs6.html

I saved over $500 upgrading my Master Suite Collection and most other upgrade paths save around $350 to $350.

The only downside is that the free upgrade in North America is a download (everywhere else you can get a box). For the saving, I decided I could run my donwload overnight when it becomes available.

Hope this is useful for those that are upgrading. Enjoy

Good spot... I just "upgraded" to ver 5.5 to get the free upgrade to ver 6.0 and the savings are substantial - $399 vs $749 - this was for 5.5 Design Premium-> 6.0 Design & Web Premium - it is a limited time offer that expires 5/6/12 so anyone who is interested needs to decide quickly or lose the opportunity.

Can you link to the page after you click the 'can't wait'? I do not see that link anywhere. I followed the above two links for the terms and conditions but I am unable to find the upgrade to 5.5 link on the main section of the Adobe site (I have web premium 5 by the way).

Never mind...I found an upgrade to 5.5 through an authorized 3rd party. Every option on the Adobe site that I could find was charging the full upgrade price. I just have to have it registered by May 6th to be eligible for the free upgrade to 6. I will need this for school in August and this method is cheaper than the student version itself. Thanks!

wmgreen,

What were the 2 prices? I'm surprised that anything is cheaper than the student price . . . that's usually the lowest (in my limited experience with Adobe products)

The Adobe site was offering upgrade from CS5 to CS6 at $749.
The Adobe education price for CS6 Web Premium is $449.

The price I paid through 3rd party for 5.5 upgrade was $369. I will then qualify for the free upgrade to 6.0 in about a week and a half.

I could have waited for school to start in August to get student edition but I save $80 doing this (unless those prices get reduced).

Thanks for the quick response. I got CS5 Extended at the educational price of $199 USD. I guess they have dramatically raised the student price for version CS6, which does surprise me. Or, are other Adobe programmes included in the deal you're talking about?

There's always academic version of design suite, that's a great deal if you qualify or maybe buy it for your child
