Hi John,

Nice picture, what adapter are you using ? I also have a collection of Nikon AIS lens that I want to try out.

Well hey there John, nice to see someone else with this lens on the 7. I'm actually working on a technical review with it, great lens so far.

I have just recently had a problem with one of the adapters but now that I

look closely, it's a Nikon G adapter. Anyway, what it is doing is intermittently
not allowing me to open the AIS lenses all the way up. It will get stuck at
f/4. It happened on the 105/1.8 and today with the 85/1.4.
Love these fast lenses!!

Now I remember why I got a non-G adapter. More parts that can possibly fail.

Love these fast lenses!!

I'm starting to get a little LBA with these fast, long primes. Eths has me almost getting the 180mm f/2.8.

I had all Canon FD but started having problems with the FD-NEX adapters
where the "lock" wouldn't hold the aperture lever locked. Sooooo I recently
purchased the Nikon 85/1.4, 105/1.8 & the 180/2.8..... Also picked up
a 28-50 zoom for good measure! Now if I can only make my mortgage
payment I'll be OK....

Good point, interesting you have that 180 and 85 as well, mildly interested in the 85 personally.

Hi , I am interested to get some recommendation on nikon to nex adapter. I just recently picked up a used Novoflex from B&H, nicely fit but the little pin ledge for removing nikon lens is a kind of difficult to operate, I am comparing it to the one on the $40 Fotodiox one. The lens plays on this one , some small movement . So I tried the pro version and found it too tight to take the lens in & out. All there are good on the camera side. I have since returned both Fotodiox.

Please share your experience on nikon adaptor.

Thanks,

Ron

I have the Fotodiox pro as well, and the mount is indeed very tight on some of my lenses. Not enough to warrant caution though, besides, if it did, I can just tighten/loosen some of the screws.

Thanks, I am just questioning if Novoflex really worth $300.

Some people believe it is. You're basically paying for the absolute best adapter out there, precision made in Germany. Will you see and feel the quality difference? Dunno.

I have excellent experiences with the Novoflex adapter - Expensive but worth it IMHO.

Great-looking cat, and a lovely capture, but the oof areas have gone all crunchy, presumably due to sharpening? If using Unsharp Mask, try using a sub-pixel radius, maybe 0.2 or 0.3px, threshold at 0, and then turn up the amount high, to maybe 300%, which should pick up all the fine detail but ignore the soft stuff. Apologies if this was your intention.
