So when the MFT bandwagon passes outside his window, he might be joining too.
Unless it's an IQ problem, but not necessarily the Image Quality with the MFT.

why don't people TAKE PHOTO instead worrying about Ken Rockwelll?
In reply to photo perzon, Apr 22, 2012

Why dont' you just take photo instead of whining about Ken Rockwell like every other Nikon fanboys do? What does Ken Rockwell do or not do has anything to do with m4/3. Who Cares?

Why don't you just take photograph instead of worrying about what the man does?

Ken Rockwell wrote an Excellent Articles called

quote:

Equipment Measurbator: Bottom Level 1 - These men (and they are all men) have no interest in art or photography because they have no souls. Lacking souls they cannot express imagination or feeling, which is why their images, if they ever bother to make any, suck.

They are interested solely in equipment for its own sake. They will talk your ear off for hours if you let them, but as soon as you ask to see their portfolio their bravado scurries away, or they think you want to see their cameras or stocks. You can read why cameras simply don't matter here

I think he describe you perfectly. If you have issue with him, take it up with him. Why not show us your Photographic Skills, and prove Ken wrong that you can take photograph....or is he right, that you're just yet a souless gear collector?

I agree with Ken Rockwell. If you want a pocketable camera, the Canon S100 is the one to get. I have its predecessor the S95 and its a great camera.

My G3 with the 100-300mm and my S95 make a great combination to carry around all day. The G3 takes care of the birds and the S95 handles everything else.

Only in it for the money is a description fitting most people who do something professionally, for instance most photo gear review websites...

Because as he never did it before, he hasn't got any source from which he can copy-paste as he does with Fuji. Also, he probably doesn't know how to take photos with m4/3.
Actually, he doesn't know how to take good photos with any camera.

he normally writes about stuff he likes, be it nikon, canon leica or contax.

sure he will get an income from the click through, but do you deny him that? there are plenty amazon click throughs here.

And has barely mentioned Micro Four Thirds ever since. That's not necessarily a bad thing though - the man's a loose (excuse the pun) Canon so I wouldn't want to predict what he would say about the latest crop of Micro Four Thirds cameras.

What I would say, is that as someone who claims to be a strong advocate of shooting JPEG himself (and also a consumer advocate), it would seem somewhat remis of Ken not to mention the latest Olympus (pre OMD) models.

One who does a thing for the love of it.
