I think it has potential I black and white. I would increase the contrast more before converting to black and white t give it a bit of punch.

It's nice in BW with more contrast but my advise is to work a little on the upper sky. I mean the big gray cloud. More detail in it will give more content on the sky.
Nice picture. I like it.

It could be a nicer shot with more time in PP. Gloomy days look always better in B/W IMHO.
This is more or less how I imagine it! But it was done very quickly!

I like it with the slightlymore contrast here, in B&W. I agree a little more selective contrast or sharpening in the large grey cloud to mirror the shore line a little might add drama to the image. Regardless beautiful picture thanks for sharing.

Either
So long as neither still has the wall o cloud at the top

I kinda like the color... Needs some color tweaking, but the colors are almost there for the subject matter

I have a natural affinity for the B/W image. However it needs more contrast and general brightening. if you were doing the conversion in LR or something similar I'd say to try different color filters for the base B/W conversion.

Always B&W unless color actually ADDS something to the image, but it rarely does.

B&W clearly shows the contrasts and shapes, which make an image (in my opinion) much more attractive....

This might be not the best image I shot (dont have color/BW of the same image in my gallery at the time), but just to show...

This image also does nothing in color;

Crop it square so you lose the wall of cloud completely? That's mostly my anti-2:3 portrait hater speaking, though

The square crop is best.

I like the color version better than the b/w version but I think it is a little to dark. I would like the brightest clouds to be white.
