Nex7 with CZ 24m. vs Fuji Xpro1 with 35mm question
Apr 10, 2012

Does anyone have this combo?

I'm trying to find out if the nex7 with CZ 24mm lens would give same image quality as the fuji xpro1

I really love, really love the xpro image quality but AF is killing me.

Anyone tested?

I know xpro will do much better with high iso stuff. I'm more concerned from iso 200-800

Thanks!

Well, this is not to relevant to the lens performance, but I found this at FM:

My local camera shop has the Fuji X Pro 1/35 asph combo, and i had the chance to use it his weekend.

I love the Fuji camera, and the rangefinder feel, the image quality, and the controls, the viewfinder (optical/digital switch) the display, everything. Fantastic.

BUT...to be honest, i had a hell of a time getting the Fuji to nail the focus. Most of the time, it really struggled or couldn't focus at all. I would center spot prefocus on an object 2m away in good indoor lighting, and it would confirm (green box), yet nothing was in focus.

When it appeared to be in focus, checking the pictures on a big monitor showed that it was close, but still not quite right. Outside it did a bit better, so maybe low light was part of the problem.

My NEX7/zeiss24 combo does not share this problem. Focus is almost always 100%, so chimping is optional.

It's a pity because the Fuji combo is great and about the same price as the NEX/Zeiss combo (i paid about €1800 for the NEX/Z and the Fuji combo is about €2200 here)
