With Aunt Ethel and Uncle Joe.
In reply to Erik Ohlson, Apr 11, 2012

My twin brother and I spent the better part of our childhood (up to teen age) living with our aunt Ethel and uncle Joe. They were wonderful people and Joe, who was born in 1870 took us on when he was 59 years old. In the first picture it looks like nobody was too happy.

This is me with Ethel in 1970.

Me with Ethel when she was in her early 90s.

My mum took this circa 1967 with her Rolleiflex 3.5F Xenotar. I scanned the original negative with my Epson V500 film scanner. No PP except to resample to a smaller web size. It is of my step-dad, step-siblings and myself.

No old scanned shots this time. My younger brother (who turns fifty next month) and I had a "boys week" a couple of years trout fishing at Lake Tekapo and then hiking at Mt.Cook.

looking forward to next month as we have a 5 day celebration in Australia.

Future family album shots

Puts me in mind of the lake where I have been walking dogs for 30 years [third generation of dogs, now] - I met a guy two days ago with a half-dozen fish: about as many as I have seen caught in all those years, all at once !

Great set, Lee.

I'll have to dig out one I have of my Dad & Mum in Hyde Park just after the war when we came over to join him.

Erik - it is still a great idea. Last week's prompted me to find/PP this a photograph of a framed photo behind glass. Oma & Opa circa 1900. Stuart

Thanks, very nice shot, and the frame has preserved it well!

Interesting set and background Jack. Looks like you were still acclimatising in the first image but things turned out well due to a wonderful Aunt & Uncle. Stuart

I think we all got up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. Judging from the way they were dressed, they may have been to a funeral that day.
