Nice set of shots!!
For my taste, the vignette effect seems well suited.

Lovely pictures, just shows that the 100-300 is a good lens. It has received a lot
of criticism by some people. It is my favorite lens with the G2 and G3.

I think your shots a GREAT. Nice job. I've been considering th Panny 100-300mm lens myself. I have a G1 camera. Would you assume that it would function just as well with my camera as with yours?

Sure, it will work well on all Micro Four Thirds cameras, and do the firmware upgrade it get even better doing the AF

It is a fine lens

Wonderful animals, and very good images, I don't like much the vignette effect, but this is personal taste

I've got into photography relatively recently, about 2 years ago and mainly for underwater photography, so the GF1 is my first camera, this being said I can't compare it with bigger body's but I felt pretty comfortable using it with the panny 100-300.

Nicely done but....
In reply to cata13nci, Apr 9, 2012

there is a strong magenta cast to these. Nothing wrong with the shots at all, nice and sharp, good compositions but there is definitely too much magenta which is skewing the colour to my eyes. I'm not sure if it is a white balance issue but it's very obvious to me. Personally I'd try and warm these up and tweak the colour a bit.

I can't see the magenta cast you are talking about, maybe is your display or maybe is mine.....Can anybody else confirm this?
Thank you for pointing this out!

. . . This magenta color cast issue has been confounding a lot of us here recently. It's even made me decide to upgrade my monitor though my current one has been acting up lately anyway.

. . . They are nice photos and I like them regardless of whether the colors are exactly 'right'. Hopefully you have the RAW files and can make any changes that might be needed at any time that suits you in the future. I especially like that closeup portrait of the male lion - a very nice photo!

They colours certainly are not ideal and i´d correct them via RAW. I know the magenta cast he talks about from the GF1 and some pictures do have that here.

Nevertheless, the pictures are great despite the not perfect colours.
