X-Pro1 Camera and three initial lenses bag recommendations?
Apr 6, 2012

OK, my 60mm lens hasn't arrived yet. But the rest has and I want to be prepared.

Who has a camera bag they are happy with, preferably in backpack form, for this new system?

Thanks

Here I am with my favorite X-Pro1 bag

It blends right in as you can see - and is perfect for urban use - no-one knows you have a camera!

Plain bags are soooo last season - go big or go home!

I know this is not a backpack, but I love the ThinkTank Retrospective 5 in Pinestone - fits the XP1 and lenses perfectly with room for another lens, or two (depending on the size):

I use this one:
http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=domke&itemnum=700-J5C

I went though few cameras, but I cannot find a better set-up for compact travel setup.

The best part about this bad is compartment at the bottom that can hold 3-4 rangefinder lenses, while top is used for the body with a lens.

I want to love the Domke bags, but the noisy velcro ruins them for me. Otherwise, they're nice.

I think the Think Tank Retrospective 5 is just about the best bag I've used. If only I could fit an iPad in it and still close it properly...

I love the Incase Ari Marcopoulos sling bag - great size for walk around street photography and has a great style. It has an iPad pocket too! The price tag is a bit steep but I think it's totally worth it!

I am not sure of your age, but I don't like camera bags that look too camera bags like.

So, beside the usual heavy duty Tamrac and Lowepro, I have quite a few messenger bags style bags that can fit both camera and ipad or small laptop.

I was considering the Billingham Hadley too, but finished ordering this one in navy green/desert setting: http://www.wotancraft.com/shop/bag/scout

Not a backpack though, have enough of these for my DSLRs and tired of them.

+1 for the ThinkTank Retrospective 5 in Pinestone, I'm using my XPro with it and it fits great a long with the X100 and Hexar AF, great bag

Look at the Tamrac Zuma 4 at:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/765028-REG/Tamrac_572401_Zuma_4_Photo_iPad_Netbook_Bag.html

It will hold my entire X-Pro 1 kit plus my iPad and a few smaller accessories like a circa pol and extra batteries.

I got the Tamrac Rally 5

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/739242-REG/Tamrac_344501_3445_Rally_5_Camera_Netbook_iPad.html

It's a bit bulkier than I'd like, but I imagine it's difficult to fit a system and an iPad into a flat messenger bag.

I have a bag like this one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270805204108?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

and find it holds everything I need, two bodies (xp1 and lecia m5) a few lensesand odds and sods

As for a backpack - unless I was carrying a weekends worht of cloths and gear.....

Black shows every piece of fluff, cat hair, dog hair etc.

The green fibrenyte with tan trim is a smart and practical choice.
