A wet evening in Prague
Apr 4, 2012

My wonderful wife surprised me with a womderful 50th birthday present, five days in Prague. We had great weather and it only rained for half an hour on the first evening, the rain created magical light and reflections on the pavements.

All taken with the LX5, hand held. All in all I was very happy with the camera, especially in low light.

I hope to post more prague shots in the future.

How much post processing did you do? Lightroom, or something else? And were the originals RAW?

Regardless of the tweaking you have a great eye.

I'm curious - what ISO are you choosing? These are just beautiful.

For hand holding in this sort of light I would use ISO 100 or 200 with a 2 second shutter delay with my D-Lux 4, but I wonder whether I'm on the right track.
I'm in the early stages of learning.

I was really happy with the camera this trip, nearly no PP on these, at most 15 seconds in Picasa. Maybe it is because it's the simple Panasonic version, and not the high and mighty Leica

I wish my DL5 could give me that!...

I would be very proud to achieve what you get wit yours!

Great job!

These are nearly as they came out of the camera, I was very happy with them, and didn't even go to photoshop. A few seconds in Picasa. sharpening and a tiny bit of highlights and shadows tuning, that's all.

Regardless of the tweaking you have a great eye.

Thanks a lot for your encouraging words.

These were taken between 200-320 ISO, no shutter delay as I use that only with a tripod, and these were hand held, These were F2.2-2.5, and the speeds were between 1/8 50 1/15 second. It worked very well for me.

I'm in the early stages of learning.

So am I

It certainly did work well. Thanks for the information.

I am thinking one of the differences between the DLux 4 and DLux 5 might better more effective image stabilization in the 5. I don't think my results are quite that sharp at those slow shutter speeds.
