These are really good.

However, if I was to nit-pick (I'm trying to help to turn good into perfect :-)), I think you're very close them being fantastic.

Pics #1 and #5, personally, I think would be improved by getting rid of the splodge to the left of the model's head; it's distracting, and (especially for the colour version) the points of interest should be the roses and her stunning blue eyes...

Pic #3, I'd crop much tighter, unless you were thinking of the empty space being useful for a magazine cover...? Otherwise, isolate

I'd also really like to see colour versions of #2 and #4.

cheers, I appreciate the comments, I normally steer clear of aggressive PP like cloning out big stuff, and that's my only bit of bokeh in the shot but I'll give it a crack

I prefer the crop as it is on shot 3 but each to his own:)

this one below is possibly better in colour I think:)

I wont show the other in colour (no. 2) as its rubbish in colour:)

Wow!

I thought the B&W was good, but... those eyes!

Oh, yeah. I definitely prefer these.

Not that the originals were in any way bad, but I think these are GREAT.

I was thinking of a much tighter crop like this... but as you say, to each their own.

cheers, 3&4 were shot with Westcott continuous lighting system (daylight balanced flourescent bulbs) one of which is in a huge softbox and the other in a strip-softbox with an egg-crate. The big softbox was feathered so was almost at 90 degrees to the model (across her face) and the strip was used as a key light on the back right of the shot. The rest were all done outside, with added reflectors and translucent screens to soften the sunlight

Really excellent work. I prefer the edits but just a matter of taste since the origs. were fine.

Thanks for sharing your method

Aye indeed! She puts Bette Davis to shame in the eye dept and has the body of a dancer, which is just as well as she is in fact a professional dancer and these are her first ever photo shoots!

I'm surprised that this was her first shoot. I instantly thought that she was an experienced model, so she is naturally talented at being able to pose for the camera.
