P7100 Devonport stroll

A few snaps with the new P7100 in Devonport, Auckland New Zealand on a quiet Sunday morning.

yes its Devonport in NZ not England although the signs would make you think otherwise.

And its also a Naval base and as you can see in the sign big guns are dangerous

You can get a "magickal" cup of coffee too!

And you are allowed to walk in both directions on the footpaths

And there are seagulls (lots of them) I just liked the details the P7100 brought out.

cheers

Great photos. Great camera. The dynamic range with the bright sunlight as well the dark shadows behind the canon shows its abilities. I have no idea what that footpath sign means, is it people carrying sacks crossing both ways here?

PS. Magickal is correct, just olde.

Nice to see that the lens is long enough for birds shots.
And I see your camera time is little out.

Cheers.

Thanks Anthony, I used the shadow command in aperture to bring up some of the shadow but it had to be there to begin with.

Not sure about the walking sign, it is a popular place for tourists with backpacks (?) but otherwise i have no idea.

cheers

Thanks Kim

the gull was very obliging. Thanks for the note on the time. That is weird as the shots were taken between 9 & 11am this morning. When I check the camera now it is showing the right time. It was end of daylight saving this morning or maybe I hit something to do with travle time ? I will keep an eye on it. (maybe its just an April fools trick :))
cheers

NZ would be a dream place for me to visit and shoot. Envious. Of course, you may like our swamps here in Florida. The 7100 is not disappointing!

Its just a flight (or two) away. Come on over, we could use the tourist dollar, the sceneray is marvelous and the light great.
