I think the last two images are the better ones.

The first two have glare spots because they were taken in direct (somewhat harsh) sunlight.

I'd clone out those bright spots.

Flower shots are always more optimal when taken on a bright (but cloudy) day with NO direct sunlight at all....or, if indoors, with a soft, diffused lighting setup.

Here's a few of my flower with water drop examples:

Wow Kev, your pictures are wonderful. Which cam/lenses did you use? What post processing do you use? What do you do to get the "background" black?

Thank you,

Gaby

Gaby,

Sorry, I can't answer all that in depth...coz it would take many pages and a lot of time.

I currently shoot with the D300 and 105VR for my still-life/floral work.

I post process in NX2 and CS5.....and create the black background via a combination of methods. Ie: full 'extraction' in CS5 with layer/mask....or the "selection" tool mask in NX2.....and sometimes both together.

My workflow is about 40% setup/capture and 60% post production

I shall be updating my web blogs on this subject during the coming months...so check back here.
