Minolta Focusing Rail

I am looking to buy a Minolta focusing rail.

For those who might have one, approximately how much travel do you get with one turn of the knob?

Thanks.

That would depend on the rail. They all work differently with differing distances.

Mine gets 32 mm but DadlB is right - there are lots of different models out there.

32mm is a lot.

I know the RRS focusing rail only moves 1.25mm per turn of the knob.

Anyway, found a used Minolta and ordered it.

It's the version with three tubular guides.

Hi Alan

Did you get the Minolta rail yet? if you did how do you find it? I have the chance to get one in the UK, but won't be able to see it first as it's mail order. Not sure about the price either. It will probably work out to the equivalent of around $80 and is in 'as new' condition' with box.

Thanks

Chris

Re: Minolta Focusing Rail

I did get it but sent it back.

The rail I received was not the rail that was pictured when I ordered it.

The one I received was the AB-III.

Bought it from KEH.

It was in perfect condition ($100).

The amount of travel per knob turn was greater that I wanted also.

Will save up for a RRS model.

Thanks Alan

It's definitely an AB-I for sale here in perfect condition.
