5D Mark III pre-orders at Ted's Cameras
Mar 1, 2012

Hi, fellow (Australian) brethren,

http://www.teds.com.au/canon-eos-5d-mark-iii

Ted's Cameras is where people who don't know how to buy stuff for cheaper online (mums and dads) go to, to buy cameras and video equipment, here in Australia. And, in the process, pay a lot more.

But, I thought it was interesting that they had that page up and taking pre-orders with some of the specifications revealed.

Regards,
Humayun

Canon EOS 5D Mark III

Took a look at the link. Being from the USA, don't know the retailer. So can't comment on them but for whatever it's worth here's the specs as posted by them.

IF this is indeed accurate, looks the AF is not watered-down. The frame rate is good as well. Seems like a decent evolutionary update to the 5D II. Will be interesting tomorrow.

I totally agree, but where did they find those specs at? And how come canon rumors didn't release these specs? I hope these are legit;)

Ted's Cameras is legit
In reply to Silat Shooter, Mar 1, 2012

I am from Australia and Ted's Cameras is probably the biggest photography store in the country. They are a very reputable business with numerous bricks and mortar shops all over the country.

I suspect some web designer at Ted's is now looking for a new job for releasing the page too early, or some data-entry person for not setting the embargo date/time in the database.

"Dimensions - 152 x 116 x 76mm"

This would make it just slightly bigger than the 5DII, no (152x114x75 I believe)

Isn't Australia already ahead of us with respect to their position on the other side of the world?

So in fact it is already tomorrow there.

Ehm, no, no image stabilization. Therefor the "-" and not an "yes" or "in-body" or similar on that line.

Notice the "-" which means "NA" same for built in flash. Yes had me confused at first also.

That's $4525.00 USD.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but there are additional duty and VAT taxes on AUS gear.

Australian retail prices are always quoted with all taxes included. If that is the Australian price then the US retail price should be the rumoured $3500.

I rate your troll a 5/10. You could have done better if you'd said you ordered more than one copy of each camera, or that you'd ordered from more than one dealer, but your signature added a very nice finishing touch of "say whaa" to the post that few other posters here can so easily achieve.
