Some F600EXR shots with no orbs (7 images)
Feb 18, 2012

Hey guys, I haven't been able to shoot much with my F600EXR lately but I managed to snag these. Just a sample of what this $300.00 flawed wonder has served up for me. All of these have been shot in RAW and processed with a touch of Topaz Adjust.

After a few months of shooting with this thing, I have fallen into a couple of routines: 1) turn off the EXR mode. It's useless if you are shooting RAW. 2) If you can help it, don't use it while fully zoomed out OR in. 3) Careful with the the highlights!!!

Enjoy,

Keep posting your shots ..many will appreciate them!!

That camera is in good hands. I like these a lot. In view of the shot at 66mm I don't see why you say avoid the extreme end of the zoom range. The 5mm shot is not quite the widest. I presume you find you avoid vignetting and soft corners that way.

But they do not damage your first shot, the red rowboat at 4.4mm.

Lovely shots, Bruce. First and last - they are beautiful and I like the abstract of the leaves, too.

Wow really awesome photos, definitely an argument towards using RAW.

Nice shots, especially last.

This is my shot with intelligent digital zoom feature (30x) at 720mm equivalent.
For my eyes it seems good.

Thanks for you generous comments.

Yeah some of these shots are at 24mm. Most likely they are slightly cropped as well.

Excellent photos, shows good camera and even better eye.
I wonder how you find shot-to-shot wait times on the F600EXR when using RAW.

Shot to shot is fine for what I do. With a fast SD card its repectible. The burst mode settings, however, are completely bone headed and needlessly complicated with phony features.

Bruce - was balcony shot early AM?
In reply to Bruce Jones, Feb 21, 2012

Bruce, this is a beautiful and haunting image. The EXIF says 9:26 in the morning, but there must have been lots of light, with 1/1000 at f/11. Was it a foggy but bright morning?

..actually in looking at your shots and comments of those who have shot the F600..it looks like it a great cam well worth the now tiny clam outlay needed for purchase!!

Strange weather that day. Lots of mist. Actually a low cloud. And a very bright sun.
