Does anyone here use Corel's Knockout?

When I go to Corel's site it's just not there. Well, if I search for it, it's there.

If someone here is using it, I'd appreciate you're opinion of it!

I have used it many times, Vertus is better. Knockout is similar to what comes pre-installed in PhotoPaint whick is the cutout lab.

Was the best at its time, but Corel did not make it evolve...
No support for 16-bit files and no x64.

Best try:
Topaz Remask http://www.topazlabs.com/remask/
Akvis SmartMask http://akvis.com/en/smartmask/index.php
Vertus Fluid Mask http://www.vertustech.com/fluidMask/overview.html
GrowCut http://growcut.com/ (no x64 yet)

Agree with Pictus, at that time, it was a really good product. Now, it can't keep up with the best tools like fluid mask or remask.

I still have it, but i don't use it anymore.

Hadn't thought of Knockout for awhile. Many years ago I purchased "Knockout 2" which was considered state of the art at the time.

Never got around to installing it though. It's still in the cupboard in original shrinkwrap. Maybe I should use it as a doorstop!

Let me assure you, there is NOTHING on the market that I know of that even comes close to what Corel Knockout can do. It was originally developed by Ultimatte, the great folks who invented green/blue screen for video )it was originally called Ultimatte Knockout.) If you need to extract perfect hair detail from a contrasted background, this is IT. I have been trying to get any info on a Win 7 version of this from Corel, but I cannot get any answers from them. I certainly hope they are doing it for 64 bit, this would be a Godsend. Strangely, the original "Extract" was removed from Photoshop, and this was the only thing that could get close to fine detailed extraction.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  I doubt many will agree with you on this....I certainly do not.

I have not tried fluid mask or remask, so I will try to update myself here. It certainly was state of the state for the time frame...Glad to be hipped up here...
