Hi all, here are some photos from Yunnan Province, China. All taken with E3 and either 14-35 or 50-200 SWD, C&C welcome.
I just started putting some galleries up at pbase and there are more examples there, thanks for looking.
I'm very intrigued by your post-processing techniques, great balance of highlights, shadows & contrast and the colours are beautifully reproduced; would you mind shedding some light on your technique?

I try to reproduce the colours as I saw them at the time. I usually just process in RAW using ACR and a colour profile matching the camera colours. I will boost the vibrance and saturation if necessary and sometimes apply a graduated filter to balance the exposure. My post processing is usually just levels and curves in Photoshop but I will sometimes use a contrast mask to bring out the colours and detail and balance the shadows and highlights in high-contrast scenes.
A beautiful collection of images, definitely one of the bests I've seen during the last months. While I am not the biggest fan of that punchy and saturated processing, it works very well in this case!
Very nice and colorful pics!
I've been there many years ago; you've captured the atmosphere perfect.
Yunnan, I would say, the most beautiful province in China, naturally and culturally.
If it's a 1000-page book, your pictures occupy at best one small corner of one of the pages. There are too many places worth visting and too many varieties of culture worth exploring and appreciating.

There are more places in China just as beautiful .
Beside that, I find some places in Yunnan are overrun
with tourists .
Still a beautiful place though .
