where would you go to print online?
Oct 24, 2011

Hello all...

it's been a very long time since i've posted, but i still lurk from time to time. I've had to focus on some personal portions of my life and so I put my photography (and everything else) on the shelf for a while.

a question I have right now though is whether anyone has an online or mail-order lab they use for making fine-art digital prints... the kind where you email the file, choose the size and they make a quality print from it. I sold my larger printer and I'm not in a position to buy a new one right now, but every so often I have an image that I want to print to 11x17 or so.

anyone make a recommendation in the USA?

thanks

PS I'm posting here simply because this is the place where I used to post with some frequency, and I felt at home with a few people I still see around here.

Glad to see you back. I've used several sites including Snapfish and Kodak, but I've been most pleased with the prints I've gotten from Adorama. They have a wider variety of sizes available as well as 4 or 5 different choices for printing. For larger prints, instead of being rolled up, they are shipped flat protected by cardboard. Here is there website.

I have used Bay Photo with great results. http://www.bayphoto.com it's a real pro lab.

In fact I just ordered a print today that I will be donating to local school for their annual fund raiser.

Mpix good. I now use http://www.whcc.com/?gclid=CMyx1Lr2gqwCFZAAQAodeRPROA . Their customer service is first class, they ship very timely and give you a lot of control if you like.
