The second image
In reply to Jeff Seltzer, Aug 27, 2011

Excellent shot with great skin tones. I am hoping mine does 1/2 as good.

What a surprise I got as I was not to get mine until Monday but got it today!

Hard to pick just one -- there are numerous different categories in which the X100 shines. But here's one from yesterday:

I'm enjoying the ability to do infrared panoramas with the X100, in addition to work pictures, which of course it does just fine.

Have fun! Be sure you fully charge the battery before you make pictures. Hard to do, I know, but crucial.

A memorable shot
In reply to Greg Gebhardt, Aug 27, 2011

Don't know if I could pick a best shot, but this one was pretty memorable, as a violent thunderstorm worked its way up the coast of the mainland, shot from a barrier island. That same area is about to be pounded by Irene later tonight, as are we (hopefully not as badly), so I guess I had storms on the mind...

Have fun with your camera...

Panning on X100
In reply to steveleicaman, Aug 28, 2011

Great shots. Love all of them. I can't decide which is my favorite. But here is mine panning my girl on her tricycle.

Here's one ... I was happy with the colors too ... but best of all, I biked out to the area where that beach is, and the X100 was so lightweight in my backpack.

I always find that, at least for me, the images embedded in the forums come out looking awful. Not just my images, but everybody's. But with the gallery slideshow, things are fine:

More panning
In reply to Boen Boen, Aug 28, 2011

Oh yeah. I remember that shot - very nice! And a good reminder of some stuff I did at a bike race one night with some more radical panning of folks going a little faster on bikes...

I've probably taken BETTER pictures, but this one's my favorite because before buying the X100, I'd have had to take this shot with my iPhone, and wouldn't have ended up with NEAR the quality. Having a walk-around camera that is THIS fantastic has opened me up to capturing whatever I see.

Enjoy your new toy!
