Re: Holga?

I have shot with a Holga. I have one with a Nikon mount and used an adapter.. Worked fine and I used manual focus. Produces a soft image. Not only is it a simple lens, the aperture that can be seen in the photo is designed to produce a softened image using the main opening plus a ring of smaller openings which produce secondary images. Cheap and fun to mess around with. My version has a 60mm focal length.

I was wondering the same thing! Anyone have samples? I played around with making my own pinhole camera, but you want to talk about SOFT....This lens can't be softer Han that! Anyway, the price is right.

Re: Holga?

I think the NEX holga lens was just released. I ordered mine -- I think it'll talke 3-4 weeks for it to arrive from China.

I'm not expecting much, but it should be fun.

Re: Holga?

Just recieved it:

It's as crap as I expected and I love it.

Vigneting is quite extreme and oddly shaped:

Re: Holga?

You can get a fisheye lens to go on top of the lens (its the same one that goes on the Holga 120 lens) Someone needs to stick it on this and see what it's like. Also what is this like in video mode, maybe you can upload a frame from a video so we can see.

Re: Holga?

Again here is a shot with Holga on Nex with Nikon adapter. Don't see as much vignetting as with the samples of the Holga for Nex. May be a different focal length.

Re: Holga? That' real s.h.i.t !!!

aperture 1:8 ... price $ 18.88 - for $ 25 you get an Fujian 25mm / 1.4, for $28 an excellent Fujian 35mm / 1.7

Look these sh... photos with Holga ... it's even unusable as toy ... ready for trash!
Have fun if you bought it

Look pictures with Fujians:

It does not pretend to be anything more than that so what's your problem?

Re: Holga?

Got my lens today (it came really fast from ebay) Still waiting for the fisheye attachment arriving. I like it for what it is, don't really understand all the negativity surrounding it, anyway tell me what you guys think.

Well this Holga lens is not made for you (or me), it is made for people who want to be creative in a special way (I'm not telling that you are not creative, just in an other way) for some people the bad IQ is a big plus, it makes them look hard at the way they frame their pictures and the way they use the downsides of the lens. It is such a big thing that Sony builds this "feature"in the rumored FW update!

Everyone has its own thing in photography, lets keep it that way.

I like the quality of the cheap Fujians, nice small lenses maybe I'll buy one for that cheap.

Earlier reports about the Fujian 35/1.7 tells us the image won't be sharp from border to border. On the contrary; from the µ4/3 forum I get that it's only the center half of the image that is reasonably sharp.

Here it is compared to a much more expensive Schneider lens. You can't compare the prices but it is easy to see the Fujian isn't much more but a toy either:

There have several more threads/posts in the micro forum showing the bad bokeh and limited part of the image circle being sharp by the Fujian 35/1.7.

Knallberto, are there two different 35/1.7 Fujians? Or, are the images you have shown us cropped?

Re: $ 18 for s.h.i.t ?

I've three (cheap) Fujians - but never would buy a Holga.

You can make bad, bad pictures with > $1000 lenses, but you cannot make good pictures with this $20 lens.
It's no creativity to make s.hit photos with a s.hit lens.
