I'm currently in Tuscany. It's my favorite time of year due to the light and the dramatic weather and the greenery in the fields. It has been raining and even a bit of snow the other morning, but for me a dream of lighting situations.

Some pictures

These are really lovely. I'm very jealous! An eye for the light and excellent composition as well. Beautifully executed. Congrats.

Cheers, Jon.

Wow. I wanna go there.

What lenses were you using?
Thanks Michel. It's in my eyes the best time of year since the air is very clear, the weather is dramatic, but also rainy which gives opportunities. I used in these pictures mostly the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS and for a few the Canon 24-70 f/2.8L. It is not possible to walk into the fields other than via roads, so therefore I'm limited to where I can be and the 70-200 is used a lot. The soil is very wet and turns into mud and therefore it is not possible to walk into the fields.

Hej Hans.

Endnu engang har du lade os kigge med, og givet os et lille indblik i din fotogtrafiske kunnen. Dine pastelfarver og lyset er simpelt en fryd for øjnene og man får lyst til at kaste sig i et fly til Toscany nu.

Venligst
Carsten.

Absolutely stunning. The first is my favorite but they are all gorgeous.

Mange tak, Carsten :) Toskana er fantastisk i mine øjne på netop denne tid af året. Det er der ikke mange andre der synes, hvis vi taler om turister ;) Der er ret tomt på hoteller her lige nu, men landskaberne er flotte.

Incredible work. You have a great talent and skill.

I hate to ask this question but there is so much discussion on the xxD forum about the extended DR of the new Sony APS C sensor that I would love to know your thoughts on the limitations you encounter in the capture and post processing of images such as these. It appears that several of your posted images have a very wide DR and I'm curious if you struggle with getting the final results you desire especially with lifting shadows. I assume too that with images of this caliber that you are printing quite large.

Thanks for posting.

Hans,

But I thought the 1Ds3 couldn't take a sharp picture. I'm sure I read that someplace :-)

These are glorious, and they show what the combination of camera and photographer can do.

Best,

Matt
