New Scam after "Shootmarket.com"
Nov 23, 2010

They are back, after being scammed by "Shootmarket.com" they shut the site down a few days ago, only to replaced with the following:

http://www.justnikon.net

http://www.justcanon.net

They have the same layout and the email addresses with the same name andrew.s@

They have changed their address in London, they offer the same discount as before

BE WARNED, DON'T BE SCAMMED

Sorry for so many posts after eachother (not trying to bump or anything) but I was just looking into this trying to find more about this company.
I hope that people who scam others get what they deserve....

anyway...at this link http://directors.mapofpower.com/appointees/11803520 you can see the official director (owner?) of these companies and some other companies too. It seems all the companies are somehow based on internet services. If you got scammed by one of his companies, you know his name....

I'm not sure if this is tolerated to post but I hope DPR also agrees that this should stop, they even had a ad for shootmarket on their website without them knowing it.

Also...are you sure this is the same company/email adress as shootmarket? if so, I hope this will help some people.

The UK did not embrace the Euro. If these sites are based in London, seems strange that the prices listed on both Nikon and Canon sites are in Euros. Just an observation.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Hi, I'm wondering is there any possibilities to stop those guys?

They are real threat to every photo enthusiast who's trying to buy/upgrade his/her equipment. I almost hooked on their previous "project" shootmarket com. It is almost impossible to avoid their presence on google related sites.
Any ideas?

Honestly, they are being stopped. That is most likely why they changed business names because they were exposed.

Always use, http://www.resellerratings.com to research any online retailer before you buy from them.

You should try to wait for a month (or better 2) before you pay and check some discusions like this about scam sites. Scam sites disappears very often.

I found also this italian site about justNikon.net

http://www.photomag.it/risorse-utili/negozi-truffa-just-canon-net-just-nikon-net/

Try to translate it with google if you need it.

There are more scam sites from the same company:
Just-Nikon.net
Just-Canon.net
JustNikon.net
JustCanon.net

Hands off from these sites and be carefully...

To all photo fans - nice day and greetings from Slovakia.

It is DEFINITELY a scam, as I was stupid enough to fall for this trick a few months back. The website was DigitalWayStore, you can look it up. So definitely STAY AWAY, guys!

Not sure how they can be stopped, as they seem to appear like mushrooms after the rain, but you can RT this if you're on Twitter: http://budurl.com/68kg

Hi Guys,

I'm Chris from Just Shops and I just wanted to add some information here. The people making these websites have stolen our company information. We are all actually a Pet Supplies company! As correctly pointed out already these guys aren't using the same payment engines as us, and we don't deal in Euro's.

We have reported this to the Police - who can't investigate this for us as we are not the victim - however anybody who has purchased through this site are victims, and must report this asap.

I've also contacted the registrars of each site and asked them to remove them.

To clarify, our actual websites are:

http://www.justcages.co.uk
http://www.justchickencoops.co.uk
http://www.justdogkennels.co.uk
http://www.justfishtanks.co.uk
http://www.justvivariums.co.uk
http://www.PetVillas.co.uk

It's horrible this has happened and I hope anyone who has been a victim of these has more luck with the Police. I cannot stress enough, do not try to purchase through this company!

If anyone needs any help or further information (or wants to buy a dog kennel or parrot cage!), please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hi All,

I raised the issue about Shootmarket.com with DPReview several months ago, requesting they be banned, but DPReview management replied that were unable to do anything since the advertising came through Google. Since we now have a possible owner's name I wonder if we can take action against him, any ideas?

Regards

Andrew

Thanks

Andrew

Part of the problem
In reply to Eelcos, Dec 3, 2010

One thing we have to understand is the gullability of the public. If you are doing any kind of research, you will find that all of the well known sellers have just about the same price. This includes your local camera store. They buy from the same people, but have to pay employees and open a store to the public, which costs more than a warehouse and internet site to run. Then you come upon a site that lists cameras for a whole lot less than those reputable companies. You jump on the price and buy it.

To those people who have been scammed by people like this:

Did no alarm bells go off when you saw the price? Do you think an unknown shop is buying mechandise from a major camera manufacturer for less than say B&H? Or do you think they are selling below what they paid? If these people where even a little bit legitimate, they would close down every single internet retailer within a few days (or those other sites would have to match prices).

Come on folks. A common thread to all kinds of scams is greed. You think you are getting something no one else can get. You aren't.

Dear All;

Apparently I have transacted already on the site http://www.justcanon.net and I paid using wire transfer; I am living in the UAE, Dubai

Is there anyway I can get my money back (1600 USD) if they do not deliver?

Please advise

International law is difficult. You would need to consult a lawyer and see what your options are. But I doubt you will ever see either your money or get your merchandise.

Yes, that is the location of the real Just Shops company who sell Pet homes and supplies. We haven't any cameras here I'm afraid!

To confirm, if you think you are a victim of fraud - please contact your local police immediately.
