Photos from CF card to iPhone

I am looking for a hardware/software solution to transfer my photos from a CF card to my iPhone 3G.
It should be nice to use an iPhone as a backup in the field.

There was a Belkin card reader for the iPod. It was really slow and sucked battery power pretty quickly.

iPhone OS 3.0 provides for custom hardware accessories and I would expect that card readers for the iPhone and iPod touch will appear soon.

Even if someone comes up with such a device, mac capacity is 32GB. is that really of any use? Also I wouldn't be surprised if it is a god awful slow connection. I just a reload of 4 GB of music to my iPod Touch and it took like 20 minutes.
