450D +17-85mm IS combination. Some pics

I have only had my 17-85mm a few days, so I haven't had much time to do anything other than some "test" shots.

HDR of the lake by our house (Heathlake)

Flowers in the garden

I think a wider aperture would probably do a better job of bluring the background on the above 2.

Panorama stitch in British Museum

And another in the Great Court

I created a flickr set of some of the pics I have taken so far with the 17-85mm

The 1st 2 are very nice :). Glad to see you are enjoying your new camera. It sure is a nice relief from all the "the 450D can not focus" nonsense!

I really appreciate seeing samples taken with specific camera + lens combinations. Selecting a lens is a tough business and this was very helpful.

Thanks! I enjoyed it immensely.

Thank you for your posts! This is a lens I was considering but confused at the same time with all the choices. Do you have a general sharpening technique you used (with photosohp?) ? Nice pics!

I have this lens

and love it.

I like the HDR photo. The sky looks good and the water looks good but the trees seem a little unreal.
