Photoshop Elements 6
Photoshop Elements 6

Does anyone know for sure whether Photoshop Elements 6 will run natively on Intel Macs? I find it strange that Adobe doesn't mention it; this gives me the uncomfortable feeling that it may be running under Rosetta. Does anyone have any info on this?
I don't think Photoshop Elements is based on Photoshop CS Code, and as such it does not follow that PSE 6 is a universal binary just because PSCS3 is.
Well, regardless of what you think, PE is just a hacked down version of PS. PE 1 was based on PS 6. PE 2 was based on PS 7. PE 3 was based on PSCS. PE 4 and 5 were based on PSCS2. PE 6 is based on PSCS3. Find any decent book on PE or ask adobe if you don't believe me. This is not speculation on my part; it is simple fact.
The reason PE 3 and earlier were able to run more actions was that Adobe had left more of the underlying PS code available although not in the GUI, so that you could run an action that involved, say, a Curves Adjustment layer and it would work fine in PE, even though there was nothing in the PE GUI to let you create a curves adjustment layer. This evidently annoyed adobe and they chopped some of the hooks in PE 4, but they aren't going to write a program from scratch when they already have the code that does everything and then some.
No need to get testy; unless you have first-hand info from Adobe or from someone who has used the beta, what you are offering is a guess. An educated guess maybe, but a guess nevertheless, and certainly not a fact.
Be that as it may, you were right. Confirmation came from
which should be of interest to people potentially interested in PSE 6.

natively on Intel Macs?
Conchita answered your question as you asked, she was sure.
Does anyone have any info on this?
Conchita had info on this and she gave it trying to help you. You then upped the ante wanting "proof" instead "sure". You changed your question and seemed unappreciative. I think you are the one who first acted testy.
Conchita is one of the most helpful posters in all of the forums here at dpreveiw. Your comments were out of line.
