D30 Battery Grip Problem

This morning my D30's battery grip's shutter release button would not work. The switch on the grip was turned on (red dot showing) and the grip's AE lock and AF selector buttons and command wheel all worked fine, but pressing the shutter button did nothing.
I turned the camera off, removed the battery grip, then re-attached it. Then the shutter button started working again.
Anyone else experience this?
