Looking for suggestions

Lately ive been gettin more into the potrait type of photography.
I dont know much about it and all i have is my 717 and a
tripod...for now. Here is a few samples of pictures ive takin of
my brothers. Please tell me what u think because im interested in
maybe photographing people for a summer job(senior pics, family
pic, etc) and also tlel me what i should look into purchasing with
my esisting camera setup. Heres the pics:
