That's where the phrase "there's no such thing as a free lunch"
comes from.

If you are going to bargain hunt do yourself a favor and check any
prospective seller out at http://www.resellerratings.com before you even
try to place an order with them.

Some of these outfits are extremely shady and you don't want to
give your credit card number to them even on the hopes of saving
some money on a camera.

I mean, I can see ordering and saving a bit of money from a top
flight outfit like Dell, Amazon or Buy.com (or others with stellar
reputations)... but what people will go through to try to get below
cost pricing (which they surely know there is a catch) is amazing.

Exactly. If you don't want to get ripped off, you need to spend a little more...

I found a good price at Citywidedigital for $659 (body only)
through the C~net pricing engine. Or so I thought.

Ordered online and was told I had to call in to confirm my credit
card for security reasons. I called in and landed in the Hard Sell
department.

After having dodged the extra lenses, camera bags, film and other
accessories, Citywide wanted to charge me $150 for the battery,
charger and strapon. This is when I canceled and hung up.

25 minutes wasted.
