Just bought an S2 and would appreciate some feedback on a couple of questions I have.
I've been trying the camera with the following lenses:
1) Cosina AF-D 19-35
2) Nikon AF-D 28-80 f3.5-5.6
3) Nikon AF-D 75-240 f4.5-5.6
I've tested under a variety of conditions, with and without flash.
The cosina 19/35 and the Nikon 75/240 give pleasing results but the Nikon 28-80 produces shots that are around a stop underexposed. This is in spite of the metered reading being the same using all three lenses on carefully framed test views. A scene that is metered as, say, f8 at 1/8 using all 3 lenses will come out darker on the 28-80 than the other two.
I have also checked the exposure readings against the F80, and they seem to be pretty consistent between it and the S2.
Also, I've noticed as a general point, that if i shoot a grey card (using pretty much any lens) the histogram peaks a little below the mid-point.
My questions are:
1) Does the underexposure with the 28/80 sound as though it is due to the lens or camera.
2) With respect to the grey card/histogram test I did, does the Fuji/Nikon system deliberately under expose slightly (I'm sure I've seen something to this effect, but don't know if there is anything to it)
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer
