First Look: EOS Digital Rebel / 300D

Canon Canada has also announced a suggested retail price of $1699 CAN for the EOS Digital Rebel kit with the EF-S 18-55 lens.

I was impressed when Canon introduced the 10D at such a low price not so long ago, however, this ushers in a new era in digital photography. This camera is sure to have a big impact on the high end consumer market, including Canon's own models llike the 10D and the Powershot G5.

As a Nikon user, I hope Nikon has something similar up their sleeves, since I would be interested in a lighter smaller backup camera to my current D-SLR.

To think that soon you can get a D-SLR for less than what the Coolpix 5700 used to cost a year ago.

Kudos to Canon..
