Nikon was right with 1.5x consistency!

Nikon did the right thing with their consistency by having ALL of their digital cameras use a 1.5x multiplier. By doing so they can offer new DX lens for ALL of thier digital SLRs

Canon has played the guessing game with their DSLR - 1.6x, 1.3x, and 1x. By doing so they can't offer any competitive DX lenses. Thus with the introduction of the Digital Rebel, they are only offering low price (quality) lenses for ONLY the D300 (Rebel) and future DSLR models.

Until today, when Canon officially introduced their new line, many people expected Canon to work towards a low price full frame sensor. IMHO, their introduction of specialty digital lens is an admission that they were wrong about FF cameras. They now agree with Nikon that FF cameras are only for the high end market and never will be useful or affordable for the prosumer market.

Nice to know Nikon was right.
