As far as I know, neither Faststone or Picasa ever were RAW processors. They simply extracted the low-res embedded JPEG from the RAW file and displayed it for viewing. You could edit that file, but it was usually inferior to the OOC JPEGs, so no point really. I think this confused a lot of people in the past.
