Hi, can anybody help me? I'm an amateur at this thing. I have a Nikon D7000 and when I use an external flash, the built-in flash always pops up. It says in the manual that the built-in flash will not fire when an optional flash unit is attached. I tried to use SB 700 external flash but when I shot a picture, the built=in flash pops-up always. Is something wrong with my camera? I hope it's only in the camera's settings

i had the same issues with my Nikon d5200, speacially when im in AUTO settings.

this steps might help... ( i have a flash nissin DI622 Mark II)

1. set your settings on camera to auto mode.

2. both camera nikon d5200 and external are power off and un-attached.

3. attached the external flash to your camera (still power off).

4. turn on THE CAMERA first.

5. and then turn on the attached flash.

hope this help.

cheerz mate.
