Sorry...you must have misunderstood. My RX100II had no zoom noise at all. That's why I'm shocked and upset that the IV is awfully loud. Sony knows how to do it right. I sure hope I am missing something and the intelligent folks on this Forum can let me know that it's only a setting and I don't need to live with it. Because I use the camera more for video with an occasional photo and my II was perfect...but its Capture feature was not very good. The photos taken while videotaping were a bit grainy. When I heard that the IV had Capture (III does not), I thought I was upgrading because of the 4k. I assumed that nothing else would degrade, especially for this price tag. Thanks!

Well, you've replies to a thread from 2012 about the original rx100...

Maybe its bad manufacturing tolerances? (See thread about bad video vinegretting too)
