Wanting to try wireless triggering with my G3, I was really excited to find this thread. I purchased the 603 Canon triggers (RF-603 II C1, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HOX8X9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) fully prepared to modify them per the instructions. Of course, first I just tried them.

To my surprise, they worked perfectly with my YN560-III flash out of the box! I was particularly surprised, because none of the status lights are illuminated with the trigger fully in the hotshoe, but it does trigger the flash with a blink of red on the right indicator light.

Emboldened, I turned the on-camera trigger to TRX, and the off-camera trigger to TX. A half-press on the trigger results in a green indication on-camera, and a full press results in a red indication. As I don't have a cable to connect the trigger to the camera, I can't verify that it would actuate focus / shutter, but I'm guessing it would. I'm hoping that a cable such as this one will work, but need to purchase it:

Needless, to say, I'm really thrilled to have functioning, wireless triggers for ~$30!
