You probably know this, but just be aware that there are two types of carabiners used in climbing. Standard biners with mechanism like you show here, and locking carabiners, with a screw lock. The reason for the locking biner is that with loose ropes it's quite possible for a normal biner to unlock itself as the rope falls across the gate.

Just something to keep an eye on. The last thing you want to happen is for your camera to have a tendency to undo itself from the straps.
