I had a chance to drop by Yodabashi and Map Camera in Shinjuku a couple of weeks back, and was just amazed at the selection of camera gear and the fact that you can just pick it up and try it out.  I was also surprised at how cheap some of the m43 lenses were -- for example, ~28,000 yen (tax included) for the Olympus 45mm at Yodabashi.  Since tourists are not charged sales tax, and they offer 5% discount using a Visa, this can come out to ~25,000 yen (~US$230 with current exchange rate).  The Olympus 25mm at Map was also a pretty good deal, at around ~30,000 yen (tax included), I think.  With the current US-JPN exchange rate, I think there's a number of good deals for US people.  It was definitely tempting to pick up a few things...
