I apologize if this topic/observation has already been discussed in this forum, but I have recently realized that my B+W 62mm Kaesemann XS-Pro Circular Polarizer MRC Nano Filter contacts the surface of my m.zuiko 12-40 2.8 lens. Hopefully, I have not already damaged the lens.

I wanted to let others know this as I don't (for obvious reasons) recommend purchasing this filter for this lens. I would appreciate it if anyone can suggest an alternate circular polarizer for this lens that is of excellent quality but does not contact the front element.

Thanks in advance.

Just got my 62mm Marumi EXUS CPL from B&H. Rechecked the B&W 62 mm XS-Pro MRC Nano on the 12-40 without the Cokin extension ring. Noticed something tonight. The B&W filter actually binds a bit as it turns when held in hand off of the camera. There is quite a bit of friction turning it. The Marumi works perfectly and does not touch the lens. I think I simply got a bad B&W filter. I am going to see if there is a warranty that would allow me to return the filter for repair or replacement to the manufacturer, if not to B&H.

Anyway, I'll be using the Marumi and keeping the B&W as a backup (with the Cokin extension ring) since it was too late to return it when I discovered this problem. Lesson learned.
